
BASF India Limited has begun construction on a new plant in Dahej, India, to expand the production of its Cellasto® microcellular polyurethane (MCU).
Aligned with BASF’s ‘Winning Ways’ strategy, the facility will feature advanced technologies. It will also use automation to ensure high safety and quality standards.
The plant’s first phase will feature a new mold line and is scheduled to begin operations in the second half of 2026. The expansion will enable Cellasto® to meet the increasing demand in India’s rapidly growing automotive market.
Strengthening Commitment to Make in India
Cellasto® established its first Dahej plant in 2014. Since then, it has provided industry-leading solutions for noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) reduction in the automotive sector. The latest investment reinforces Cellasto®’s commitment to producing in India for local customers.
BASF is increasing production capacity to support the growth of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). This move also strengthens its foothold in the Indian market.
