BC Jindal Group announced that it is actively pursuing acquisitions to achieve its ambitious target of expanding its capacity to 5 GW within the next four years.
The acquisitions, expected to be finalized in the next 1-2 years, will be funded through a combination of internal accruals and debt.
The group stated, “Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE) is our renewable energy arm. It is actively working on acquiring operational assets both domestically and internationally to meet this goal.”
Dedicated Renewable Energy Entity Launched
To strengthen its focus on renewable energy, BC Jindal Group recently launched Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE). This dedicated entity will oversee renewable power generation, as well as solar cells and module manufacturing.
The move aligns with the company’s strategy to diversify from its existing 1,200 MW thermal power generation capacity in Angul, Odisha.

Amit Kumar Mittal, CEO, JIRE stated, “In 2025-2026, we aim to strategically expand our portfolio by acquiring key operational assets both within India and internationally. These acquisitions will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory in the coming years”.

The company has not disclosed specific details about the acquisitions. However, it emphasized that the funding will rely on a balanced mix of internal resources and debt.
