Bhansali Engineering Polymers Expands ABS Capacity to Two TPA

Bhansali Engineering Polymers Limited planning to expand ABS production capacity from 75,000 TPA to 2,00,000 TPA at the company’s existing facilities in Abu Road, Rajasthan, and Satnoor, Madhya Pradesh. Originally, the capacity was set to be increased to 1,45,000 TPA. Toyo Engineering India Private Limited (TOYO) has been appointed as the engineering consultant to oversee the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and to estimate the capital expenditures.

Following TOYO’s appointment, a comprehensive reevaluation of the project was conducted, taking into account technical feasibility, spatial limitations, cost-effective equipment sizing, actual site conditions, and the balance of capacity across sections.

The detailed examination concluded that it is feasible to achieve a capacity of 2,00,000 TPA at the existing sites, marking a more advantageous approach than the previously considered expansion to 1,45,000 TPA. The decision is further supported by the recent acquisition of environmental clearance for a 2,00,000 TPA capacity.

The extension from 1,45,000 TPA to 200,000 TPA will not necessitate significant additional engineering work from TOYO. The estimated cost for the project to reach a 2,00,000 TPA capacity of ABS will be determined based on TOYO’s forthcoming report, expected by June 2024. As reported by EQUITYBULLS, the expansion will be financed through internal funds and is anticipated to be completed by March 2026.
