BPCL Introduces High-Performance EPA-Grade Diesel to Drive India’s Energy Sector

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has introduced domestically produced EPA-grade diesel. This will help in fostering self-reliance and innovation within the industry.

The successful development of EPA-grade diesel at the Kochi refinery, a product typically imported at a premium from Germany, underscores India’s advanced refining capabilities. The initiative aims to meet the increasing demands of the US export market while adhering to rigorous international standards.

As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, by producing this diesel domestically, the reliance on imports is eradicated, while also simplifying the engine development, calibration, and testing processes for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Krishnakumar, Chairman and Managing Director, BPCL said, “Today marks a pivotal moment in our journey towards sustainable energy solutions. With the launch of indigenous EPA-Grade Diesel at our Kochi Refinery underscores our relentless commitment to innovation and self-reliance in powering India’s growth. By reducing time and costs associated with overseas procurement, BPCL’s initiative ensures timely fulfillment of export operations, thus curbing foreign exchange outflows and bolstering India’s economic resilience”.
