Brenntag, a known name in chemicals and ingredients distribution, announced the acquisition of PIC Química e Farmacêutica Ltda. (PIC) and PharmaSpecial Especialidades Químicas e Farmacêuticas Ltda. (PharmaSpecial) in Brazil.
The acquisition significantly expands the company’s position in the growing life science market in Brazil. PIC and PharmaSpecial are established, family-owned specialty chemicals distributors, serving large customers and national compounding pharmacies in pharma, personal care and other life science industries.

As per the press release, the acquisition by Brenntag Specialties in Latin America is also an opportunity to expand Brenntag’s global network of application and innovation centers. In addition, the company gains entry into the soft gel capsule market.
