Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Issues Tender for Solar Projects

The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute, a subsidiary of Coal India, has released a request for proposals to establish a total of 35 MW of grid-connected solar projects. The overall capacity is divided into separate tenders of 23 MW, 7 MW, and 5 MW, which will be located in the Majri area (23 MW), Wani area (7 MW), and Chandrapur area (5 MW) within the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.

As outlined in the tender specifications, the project scope encompasses design, engineering, procurement, provision, construction, testing, and commissioning of the solar plants. Additionally, bidders must undertake operations and maintenance (O&M) for a duration of ten years.

As reported by RenewableWatch, the required money deposits are ₹5 million for the 23 MW project, ₹4.4 million for the 7 MW project, and ₹3.1 million for the 5 MW project. The deadlines for bid submission are July 3, 2024 (23 MW), July 4, 2024 (7 MW), and July 2, 2024 (5 MW).

Work is scheduled to begin within 30 days following the issuance of the letter of acceptance and the submission of performance security, or within seven days after the site handover. The entire contract period spans 3,922 days, including 270 days for plant construction, testing, and commissioning, followed by 3,652 days dedicated to comprehensive O&M of the plant.
