CleanMax has entered into a long-term strategic joint venture with Osaka Gas Co. Ltd. to advance low-carbon solutions for corporate clients. The collaboration aims to accelerate India’s transition to sustainable energy by leveraging global expertise and innovation.

Osaka Gas Enters India’s Green Energy Market

The partnership marks Osaka Gas’ first entry into India’s green energy sector. The consortium, consisting of Osaka Gas’ subsidiary Osaka Gas Singapore PTE. LTD. (OGS) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), will invest in the joint venture. The new entity, named Clean Max Osaka Gas Renewable Energy Private Limited (CORE), will drive renewable energy adoption across the country.

First Phase: Developing 400 MW Renewable Energy Capacity

In its initial phase, CORE plans to develop and operate renewable energy plants with a total capacity of 400 MW. The project will begin with an upfront portfolio of approximately 300 MW, strengthening Osaka Gas’ foothold in India’s rapidly expanding commercial and industrial (C&I) market. The venture will first establish operations in Karnataka, a state with high potential for renewable energy growth.

Leaders Emphasize Growth and Global Collaboration

Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director, CleanMax stated, “This collaboration will expand CleanMax’s reach among Japanese and multinational clients. It also provides access to global capital sources like JBIC, fueling our ambitious growth in the renewable energy sector”.

Keiji Takemori, Representative Director and Executive Vice President, Osaka Gas added, “We are proud to partner with CleanMax, a leading player in India’s C&I sector. This venture allows Osaka Gas Group to support India’s renewable energy transition while strengthening our presence in the country’s dynamic C&I market”.

As reported by manufacturingtodayindia.com, CleanMax’s renewable energy expertise and Osaka Gas’ global experience combine in this joint venture. It aims to drive large-scale decarbonization and significantly contribute to India’s green energy goals.
