Cleanmax Outlines Strategy to Generate Carbon Credits

Cleanmax Enviro Energy Solutions, also known as Cleanmax Solar, a renewable energy company with Brookfield Renewable as its majority stakeholder, is expanding its business into the generation of carbon credits.

The company plans to achieve this through three key initiatives: the distribution of cookstoves, agroforestry projects, and mangrove plantation efforts.

With a significant presence in India’s renewable energy sector for over ten years, Cleanmax currently operates 1.7 GW of capacity and has an additional 3.5 GW under construction.

As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, the company anticipates earning $9-10 per ton of CO2 saved, with the generation of carbon credits expected to commence in May 2025. The cookstoves will be produced by a third-party contract manufacturer.
