ClearSign Technologies Corporation, a player in industrial combustion and sensing technologies, is set to install four ClearSign Eye sensors at a major refinery on the U.S. Gulf Coast. These sensors will improve operational efficiency, enhance safety, and support decarbonization efforts.
Innovative Flame Detection Technology
Jim Deller, Chief Executive Officer of ClearSign, expressed enthusiasm about this milestone. Deller, said, “We are excited to install the first ClearSign Eye sensors in burners at a major refinery,”.
These sensors detect the presence of a functioning burner pilot, which is crucial for igniting the main burner flames. Unlike conventional equipment, ClearSign Eye sensors achieve this without direct exposure to the flame, making them more durable and reliable.
A Step Forward in Industrial Safety
Following an extensive technical review, the refinery operator trialed multiple units in an operational facility. “We believe our technology provides a more robust flame detection solution, offering significant value to our customers,” added Deller.
Deployment Timeline
The team will install the ClearSign Eye sensors on each burner of a multi-burner process heater. They have scheduled the installation for the second quarter of this year.
