CONCOR and GAIL Join Hands to Develop LNG Infrastructure Nationwide

On April 23, 2025, Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) and GAIL (India) Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi to develop LNG infrastructure across CONCOR terminals throughout India. This strategic partnership aims to promote clean energy in logistics and support sustainable transport solutions.

A Step Towards Green Logistics

As reported by cnbctv18, The MoU’s primary objective is to ensure a steady supply of LNG fuel for CONCOR’s road transportation fleet. To achieve this, both companies will collaborate to establish LNG refuelling stations at CONCOR’s terminals across the country. As part of the agreement, they will also explore additional avenues for partnership in the energy and logistics sectors.

Khodiyar Terminal Chosen for Initial Rollout

As a first implementation step, CONCOR and GAIL will set up an LNG station at CONCOR’s Khodiyar terminal in Ahmedabad. This pilot project will serve as a model for developing infrastructure at other terminals.

CONCOR’s Commitment to Sustainability

Sanjay Swarup reaffirmed CONCOR’s dedication to sustainable logistics, stating that the MoU strengthens its green initiatives. He highlighted that CONCOR has already set up an LNG station at its Multi Modal Logistics Park in Khatuwas and has acquired 130 LNG trailers, which have significantly helped in reducing carbon emissions.

GAIL Supports Eco-Friendly Transportation

Applauding CONCOR’s green efforts, Sanjay Kumar expressed GAIL’s commitment to support eco-friendly logistics solutions. He emphasized that GAIL is fully aligned with CONCOR’s mission and is eager to contribute to India’s clean energy transition in the transportation sector.
