Contec S.A. has announced the successful delivery of multiple shipments of its proprietary tire pyrolysis oil (ConPyro®) to Orion S.A., marking a key early milestone in their long-term strategic partnership. Contec’s advanced Molten® technology enabled these deliveries by processing large volumes of end-of-life tires.

Strategic Agreement Accelerates Circular Carbon Black Production

The achievement follows the February 2025 announcement of a long-term supply agreement between Contec and Orion, a global leader in specialty and high-performance carbon black. Under the agreement, Contec will supply Orion with ConPyro® TPO, enabling the large-scale production of circular grades of carbon black for use by tire and rubber goods manufacturers around the world.

Pioneering Industrial-Scale Circular Carbon Black

TPO-based carbon black production represents the only circular solution that has reached industrial scale. Contec transforms waste tires into high-quality feedstock through pyrolysis—an important step toward reducing dependence on fossil-derived raw materials. Orion leads the industry as the only company that has successfully manufactured carbon black using 100% TPO, proving that circular carbon black can replace virgin material in high-performance applications.

A Promising Start to a Long-Term Partnership

“We’re pleased to see how smoothly the cooperation with Orion has started,” said Patryk Cichoń, Sales Director at Contec S.A. “These first deliveries confirm that both teams are aligned not only on vision but also on execution. With such a strong beginning, we’re confident the path ahead will be even more efficient and impactful,” Cichoń added.

Driving Innovation and Defossilization Together

As per the press release, the collaboration underlines both companies’ commitment to sustainability, innovation, and defossilization. The success of these initial shipments paves the way for deeper integration of circular raw materials into global manufacturing. This supports a cleaner and more resilient materials ecosystem.
