Coromandel International and Ma’aden have strengthened their strategic alliance with an MoU for the long-term supply of DAP and NP/NPK fertilisers.
Formalising a Reliable Supply Agreement
The MoU was signed by Narayanan Vellayan, Director – Strategic Sourcing, Coromandel International, and Saud Al Tamimi, Director – Fertiliser Sales Commercial, Phosphate Business Unit, Ma’aden. The agreement ensures a stable and sustainable fertiliser supply chain to support India’s growing agricultural demands.
Building on a Strong Partnership
Coromandel and Ma’aden, longtime partners in ammonia supply, are expanding their collaboration to include broader fertiliser support, strengthening their commitment to Indian agriculture.
Addressing Supply Chain Disruptions
Vellayan stated, “Recent global supply disruptions have affected DAP availability in India. This strategic partnership with Ma’aden strengthens our ability to ensure the timely and consistent supply of DAP and complex fertilisers to Indian farmers. Coromandel, with its reach to over 4.5 million farmers, remains committed to supporting Indian agriculture through sustainable partnerships”.
Ma’aden’s Ongoing Commitment to India
Tamimi added, “Ma’aden has been the leading supplier of phosphate fertilisers to India for over a decade. We are now expanding our production capacity from 6 million to 9 million tonnes, reinforcing our long-term commitment to support India’s agricultural sector”.
Broadening the Scope of Collaboration
According to the press release, the MoU signing ceremony was presided over by S. Sankarasubramanian, Managing Director and CEO of Coromandel, and Anas Al Bassam, Senior Vice President, Commercial, Phosphate Business Unit, Ma’aden.
Both leaders highlighted their shared vision to broaden collaboration beyond fertilisers. They plan to explore new opportunities in R&D, innovation, and speciality agri-products, ultimately aiming to advance sustainable farming practices.
