DCM Shriram’s chemicals business bagged the OHSSAI ESG award during the eight annual HSE excellence and ESG global awards ceremony. The ceremony was organised by OHSSAI foundation in February 2024 in Hyderabad. DCM Shriram bagged the award under the large scale manufacturing category.
The award was a result of various environmental and societal interventions by the organisation in the field of renewable energy, water savings, reduction in coal consumption, increasing usage of biomass, closing on observations of energy audits, tree plantation drives and medical support to nearby communities through mobile medical units (MMU).
As per the press release, the award underscores the group’s commitment to preserving the environment and serving the communities around. OHSSAI is an independent, non-profit making organization Foundation. OHSSAI has been at the forefront of promoting and advancing Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability, not only in industries but also in the societies and educational institutes.
