Engineers India Secures Patent for Innovative Delayed Coker Heater Design

Engineers India Limited (EIL) successfully secured a patent for a new twin cell setup in delayed coker heaters, which enhances operational duration and flexibility.

Typically vulnerable to frequent shutdowns because of the high temperatures and the sensitive nature of the processed fluids, which cause coking in heater tubes, this innovative design by the EIL team addresses such challenges effectively.

As reported by PSU Connect, the twin cell configuration allows one section of the unit to operate while the other is being decoked, ensuring that the coker unit can maintain fifty percent operational capacity continuously. This achievement underscores EIL’s commitment to pioneering research and innovation that boosts efficiency in operations.
