Epsilon Carbon, a player in carbon black manufacturing, has launched Terrablack, a revolutionary product line with sustainability at its core. The launch took place during the Bharat Mobility Show’s India International Tyre Exhibition.
A Sustainable Solution for Growing Demands
Terrablack addresses the increasing demand for eco-friendly carbon black by utilizing recovered Carbon Black (rCB) and Tyre Derived Oil (TDO).
After two years of rigorous testing and collaboration, Epsilon Carbon has created a product line that balances innovation and responsibility.
The Terrablack range caters to both tyre and non-tyre industries, offering high-performance, sustainable solutions that reduce environmental impact.
Innovative Products in the Terrablack Portfolio
The Terrablack product line features two key offerings:
Terrablack 3310: Designed for heavy-duty applications such as tyre treads, this product delivers superior wear resistance and durability.
Terrablack 6615: Created for applications requiring flexibility and resilience, such as tyre sidewalls, hoses, belts, and sealing systems.
Both products are engineered to complement traditional virgin carbon black while significantly lowering the Global Warming Potential (GWP) by 40-50%.
The innovation helps industries meet global environmental goals and comply with Tyre Extended Producer Responsibility standards.
A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability
Vikram Handa, Managing Director, Epsilon Carbon mentioned, “Terrablack is not just a product; it is a promise—a promise to innovate, protect the planet, and drive industries toward a greener future. We believe innovation, performance, and sustainability should go hand in hand. Terrablack is a testament to this belief and marks a significant step in redefining the carbon black industry”.
Advancing Circular Economy Goals
Epsilon Carbon is taking its sustainability efforts further by planning a fully integrated tyre recycling plant in Karnataka, set to be operational by FY26.
The facility will recycle 30,000 tons of tyres annually, producing 9,500 tons of recovered carbon black and 12,000 tons of tyre-derived oil.
By introducing Terrablack and investing in recycling infrastructure, Epsilon Carbon is setting a new benchmark in the carbon black sector.
As per the press release, the company is proving that performance and sustainability can go hand in hand, paving the way for a greener future.
