The European Union (EU) and India jointly organized a startup matchmaking event featuring twelve high impact solution providers in battery recycling technologies. The initiative is part of the EU-India Trade and Technology Council WG 2 and aligns with the commitment of both the EU and India to promote sustainability, foster innovation, and strengthen economic relations.

An independent committee of experts from both sides following a call for expressions of interest, shortlisted twelve startups through a rigorous evaluation process based on scientific merit, market readiness, and cooperation potential.

The event provided an exclusive platform for startups and SMEs to pitch their innovative technologies. Three startups from each region will be selected for a week-long market immersion experience in the EU and India.

As reported by eeas.europa.eu, during the visit, the chosen companies will engage directly with interested stakeholders, explore potential collaborations, and gain insights into the local market landscape. The opportunity aims to facilitate the establishment of pilot projects, commercial opportunities, and potential co-development.
