Eurofragance has announced that Joan Pere Jiménez will become the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on January 1, 2026.

Currently serving as Chief Market Officer, Jiménez will succeed Laurent Mercier, who has led the company since 2018. Mercier will continue in his role until December 31, 2025, before transitioning to a new position on the Board of Directors in 2026.

The leadership change began in 2023. It includes a year-long transition in 2025 to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities and continuity in strategy.

Laurent Mercier’s Transformative Leadership

Since joining Eurofragance in 2013, Mercier has played a key role in shaping the company’s global expansion.

He initially served as Global Business Director before stepping into the CEO role in 2018, succeeding founder and Chairman Santiago Sabatés.

Under Mercier’s leadership, Eurofragance has achieved remarkable growth, consistently exceeding 20% annual revenue increases since 2021 while maintaining strong profitability.

He also championed sustainability initiatives and spearheaded investments in innovation, leading to the company’s first proprietary fragrance ingredients.

Mercier stated, “Leading Eurofragance through this exciting phase of growth and transformation has been an honour. I am deeply grateful to our teams for their dedication and trust. Joan Pere has been instrumental in our journey, and I have full confidence in his ability to drive the company forward”.

Jiménez’s Extensive Experience at Eurofragance

With over a decade at Eurofragance, Jiménez has held key leadership positions. He started as Chief Operations Officer before taking on regional leadership roles. From 2021 to 2023, he served as General Manager for the Europe, Africa, and Turkey region, later overseeing operations in Asia Pacific. In 2024, he was appointed Chief Market Officer, a role he will retain until the end of 2025.

Jiménez stated, “I embrace this opportunity with enthusiasm and responsibility. I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the Board of Directors, the founding family, and the Management Team. Over the next year, I will work closely with Laurent to ensure a smooth transition while continuing to uphold our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and people-centered leadership.”

Strategic Continuity and Internal Growth

The Board of Directors and the founding family fully support this transition. They recognize Jiménez’s deep understanding of the company’s culture and strategic goals.

Santiago Sabatés, Chairman and Founder said “We are pleased that this transition is being led by someone from within the company. Joan Pere’s contributions have been instrumental in achieving the success we’ve seen under Laurent’s leadership.”

According to the press release, this change strengthens Eurofragance’s commitment to strong leadership. It also supports the company’s global expansion and a future driven by innovation and excellence.
