The European Union (EU) and India have initiated expressions of interest (EOI) for start-ups specializing in electric vehicle (EV) battery recycling to engage in a matchmaking event. The collaborative effort is part of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC).

The primary objective is to strengthen cooperation between European and Indian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as start-ups within the clean and sustainable technology sector. The initiative aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise crucial for advancing the circularity of rare materials and transitioning towards carbon neutrality in both India and the EU.

As reported by the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, backed by funding from the EU and supported by the office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the government of India, the proposed collaboration initiative aims to foster collaboration and partnerships between solution providers and adopters from both countries.
