The push for increased ethanol production from maize is encouraging more farmers to take up maize cultivation. Indian Glycols Limited (IGL), based in GIDA, is leading the effort, attracting farmers from nearby districts.

IGL’s Support for Farmers

Under its maize growth project, IGL is providing farmers with essential resources and support. Agricultural scientist Dr. Ramnivas Bagadia, regional officer Rohit Kumar, and IGL official Yashovardhan Pandey are visiting farms to motivate farmers to grow summer maize.

Guaranteed Market for Farmers

IGL has assured farmers that it will purchase their maize directly at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), ensuring fair compensation. The company will use the maize to produce ethanol in its distillery, Live Hindustan reported.

Expanding Maize Production

S.K. Shukla, IGL’s Business Head and President of the UP Distillers Association (UPDA), emphasized the company’s commitment to increasing maize production near its distillery. As reported by chinimandi.com, a dedicated team is actively engaging with farmers to expand maize farming and strengthen the ethanol supply chain.
