Gensol Engineering and Matrix Gas Unveil Plans for Green Hydrogen Valley in Pune

Gensol Engineering Ltd and Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd jointly bagged contract to develop India’s first green hydrogen valley in Pune, Maharashtra. The initiative will include the creation of a green hydrogen production facility, which will be operated on a build, own, and operate (BOO) model. The hydrogen produced will be supplied to the specialty chemicals sector for the next twenty years.

Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering acknowledged the government’s backing, particularly from the department of science and technology (DST), in advancing hydrogen valley initiatives.

Chirag Kotecha, Whole-Time Director at Matrix Gas & Renewables, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting India’s net-zero goals under the national green hydrogen mission. The project, supported by National Chemicals Laboratories (NCL) in the Kurkumbh area, will focus on producing green hydrogen through electrolysis while also pursuing research and development (R&D) initiatives.
