Gail Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (GMPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of GAIL (India) Ltd., has successfully inaugurated its renovated and refurbished Demineralized (DM) Water Plant at its facility in the SEZ area of Mangalore. This significant upgrade marks a key advancement in GMPL’s ongoing Project Revival initiative and strengthens the company’s ability to meet rising internal demand for high-purity DM water.

Inauguration Ceremony Led by Senior Leadership

Shri R.K. Singhal, Director (Business Development), formally inaugurated the upgraded facility, highlighting the strategic importance of this development in GMPL’s operational roadmap. The event also saw the presence of Shri A.K. Naskar, Executive Director & CEO (GMPL), along with Shri Sudhir Kumar Dixit and Shri N. Balasubramaniam, both Chief General Managers (PTA), and team members from across the organization.

Enhanced Capacity and Technological Excellence

As per the LinkedIn post of GAIL, the upgraded plant has been designed to produce 220 KL/hour of high-purity DM water using advanced Ion Exchange technology. Notably, it incorporates two independent processing chains to ensure uninterrupted supply to the GMPL Complex, thus enhancing reliability and efficiency.

Achieved Without OEM Support

What makes this achievement particularly commendable is that the entire renovation was completed without support from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). This not only demonstrates GMPL’s technical expertise and self-reliance but also underscores the dedication and skill of its in-house team.

Strengthening Future-Ready Infrastructure

This successful commissioning aligns with GMPL’s vision of building a robust and future-ready infrastructure. It also reaffirms the company’s commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and continued progress under its Project Revival strategy.
