The government announced the recipients of the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar, an honour awarded to individuals and teams who have made exceptional contributions in science, technology, and innovation.
The ISRO-Chandrayaan 3 team has been recognized with the Vigyan Team Award for their work in space science and technology, solidifying India’s status in the global space sector.
Professor G. Padmanabhan, former Director of the Indian Institute of Science (IIS), was chosen for the Vigyan Ratna Award in the category of biological sciences. The award honours his lifetime achievements and significant contributions to the field.
The Vigyan Shri Award will be bestowed upon Anandharamakrishnan C, Umesh Varshney, Bhim Singh, Adimurthi Adi, Syed Wajh Ahmad Naqvi, Sanjay Behari, and Rahul Mukherjee for their outstanding contributions across various scientific disciplines.
The Vigyan Yuva Award, aimed at recognizing the efforts of promising young scientists, will be presented to Dr. Bappi Paul, Dr. Abhilash, Radha Krishnan Mahalakshmi, Purabi Saikia, Digendranath Swain, Prabhu Rajagopal, and Prashant Kumar.
