GPS Renewables, a full-stack technology and engineering company focussing on clean fuels, partnered with STEER Engineering, which is into advanced materials and extruder technology, to build cutting edge solutions for the BioCNG sector. The partnership promises to bring innovation and sustainable solutions to the forefront of the industry.
As part of the partnership, STEER Engineering will develop a state-of-the-art 2.5 plus tons per hour bio-processor designed specifically for agro-residue and biomass feedstocks such as paddy straw, mustard stalk, cotton stalk, maize, and Napier grass.
STEER’s bio-processors will streamline the pre-conditioning of the agro-residue and biomass feedstocks, leading to enhanced biofuel yields.
The collaborative effort aims to enhance the efficiency of feed processing and overall output, presenting a robust solution for the BioCNG industry. The newly designed processor is meticulously engineered to maximise performance and minimize lifecycle costs, poised to revolutionize GPS Renewables’ projects and the broader biofuel sector.
The gross agro-residue and surplus biomass potential generated in India is estimated at nearly 700 million tons a year and India has ambitious plans to tap this for sustainable energy in the form of biofuels.
As per the press release, the visionary initiative will not only drive substantial waste reduction but also bolster energy security and champion sustainable development while helping the nation in its efforts to save up to $30 billion in oil import bills up to 2030.
Nitin Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, STEER Engineering said, “At STEER, we’re on a mission to revolutionize the renewable energy and biofuel industries with our wealth of experience, expertise, and cutting-edge technology. Our unwavering dedication to innovation and sustainability is propelling us to create ground-breaking solutions for a greener and more sustainable future”.
“The incredible synergy between our shared values of efficiency, sustainability, and environmental stewardship, makes our partnership with GPS Renewables seamless and mutually beneficial. This collaboration perfectly aligns with our vision of cultivating a cleaner and more sustainable future for India,” added Gupta.
Mainak Chakraborty, Chief Executive Officer, GPS Renewables added, “Our new bio-processor is engineered to optimize performance and reduce lifecycle costs, making it a game-changer for our projects and the broader biofuel landscape We are excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to transforming the BioCNG landscape together with Steer Engineering”.
