Greenzo Energy India (GEIL) has entered into a partnership with Energy Observer Developments (EODev), a French firm, to bring hydrogen fuel cell power units to India.
Through the collaboration, Greenzo Energy will sell EODev’s zero-emission hydrogen generators and provide maintenance services.
GEIL will also produce alkaline electrolysers.
In addition, Greenzo Energy with EODev collaboration, which spans 20 years, presents the opportunity for GEIL to locally assemble EODev products in India.
Focus on Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology
Sandeep Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director of Greenzo Energy, emphasized that the collaboration is aimed at introducing Toyota fuel cell-powered hydrogen generators to South Asia.
Hydrogen fuel cell generators utilize hydrogen’s chemical energy to produce both water and electricity.
They are a clean, zero-emission alternative to conventional fossil fuel-based generators. Diesel-powered units commonly power data centers, telecom towers, microgrids, transportation, and agriculture.
India’s Growing Hydrogen Generator Market
The market for hydrogen generators in India is poised for significant growth, particularly in sectors that currently rely on diesel generators.
The hydrogen generator market will reach a value of around $20 million in the near future. This growth is driven by infrastructure such as data centers, telecom towers, and microgrids that depend on diesel.
In the telecom sector alone, nearly 8 million diesel generators are in use.
Government’s Push for Clean Energy Transition
The Indian government is encouraging businesses to replace their diesel generators. The aim is to address environmental concerns by using hydrogen-powered alternatives.
As part of the initiative, corporations will invest approximately ₹200 crore and build the necessary infrastructure.
Agarwal expects the investment to grow to ₹1,000 crore within the next two years.
As reported by manufacturingtodayindia.com, Greenzo Energy aims to be at the forefront of the transition to cleaner, sustainable energy solutions in India. EODev achieves this goal through collaboration.
