GREW Solar secured repeat order worth approximately ₹500 crore for the supply of its high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) modules. The order highlights the growing demand for advanced solar technology in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. The company announced that the contract has been awarded by an Independent Power Producer (IPP), reinforcing its position as a trusted supplier for large-scale solar power projects.
Supporting Utility-Scale Solar Projects in India
The newly secured order will support the developer’s upcoming utility-scale solar power projects across multiple locations in India. By supplying high-efficiency modules, GREW Solar aims to enhance power generation efficiency while helping project developers meet their renewable energy targets.
As India continues to accelerate its clean energy transition, utility-scale solar projects are playing a crucial role in expanding the country’s renewable power capacity.
Expanding Manufacturing Capacity
To meet the growing demand for solar modules, GREW Solar is steadily expanding its manufacturing footprint. The company currently operates a 6.5 GW solar PV module manufacturing facility in Dudu, Rajasthan, India. Furthermore, the company plans to scale up its module production capacity to 11 GW, strengthening its ability to supply large solar projects across the country.
New Solar Cell Facility Under Development
In addition to module manufacturing, GREW Solar is also investing in upstream capabilities. The company is currently setting up an 8 GW solar PV cell manufacturing facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, India. As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, once operational, the new facility will significantly enhance domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and support India’s broader push toward building a self-reliant renewable energy supply chain.
