Gulshan Polyols has achieved a significant milestone by securing a production-linked incentive (PLI) for its bio-ethanol production.
The company’s 250 kilolitres per day (KLPD) plant, located in Goalpara, Assam, stands as the key beneficiary of this incentive.
State Support Through Assam Ethanol Policy
Under the Assam Ethanol Production Promotion Policy, 2021 (AEPPP Policy), the company was already eligible for various benefits.
In a cabinet decision on December 7, 2024, the government of Assam has approved additional PLI for bio-ethanol. The incentive will be applicable prospectively for an initial period of three years.
Estimated ₹50 Crore Benefit Over Three Years
In addition to the AEPPP Policy benefits, the new PLI scheme is set to provide an estimated ₹50 crore to Gulshan Polyols over three years.
The plant’s operational efficiency is expected to be enhanced, production growth driven, and the company’s overall performance significantly improved by the incentives.
Strengthening Diverse Industry Offerings
Gulshan Polyols continues to excel across three key segments: Mineral Processing, Grain Processing, and Ethanol (Bio-Fuel)/Distillery.
The company caters to diverse industries, including toothpaste, alcohol, sweeteners, paints, paper, and plastics. Furthermore, it continues to expand its reach across various sectors.
As reported by projectstoday.com, the strategic support from the Assam government underscores the importance of bio-ethanol production in promoting sustainable energy and strengthens Gulshan Polyols’ position as a leader in the bio-fuel industry.
