HAMR Energy, an Australian firm specializing in low carbon fuels and chemicals, signed an agreement with German engineering company thyssenkrupp Uhde. The strategic alliance is set to advance the AUD $2 billion Portland renewable fuels Ppoject, aimed at enhancing the decarbonization efforts in the shipping industry through the production of 3,00,000 tons per year of Green Methanol.
As reported by bunkermarket.com, the partnership will utilize thyssenkrupp Uhde’s PRENFLO® gasification technology in conjunction with the cutting-edge uhde® green methanol technology to transform forestry residues into valuable green chemicals. The initiative is a pivotal part of HAMR Energy’s broader objective to develop one million tons of green methanol by 2030.
