HIF Global, a green fuels company, announced plans to establish a project in Brazil capable of producing up to 8,00,000 tons of green methanol annually. This marks the company’s first green methanol initiative in the country.
As part of the project, HIF Global secured land reservation agreement with the Port of Açu, where the facility will be developed. In addition, the port will provide HIF with various forms of support during the project’s development phase.
Located in Rio de Janeiro, the Port of Açu is a major logistics and industrial hub. The port is actively positioning itself as a leader in renewable energy and has already obtained a preliminary environmental license for the creation of a hydrogen hub.
HIF Global is engaged in several global initiatives aimed at transforming renewable energy into low-carbon green fuels that are compatible with existing engines.
As reported by renewablewatch.in, the company is producing green fuels at its HIF Haru Oni e-Fuels facility in southern Chile, and it is also in the process of developing large-scale green methanol plants in the United States, Uruguay, Australia, and Chile.
