Himadri Speciality Chemical, producer of speciality carbon black, aims to boost its market share in the country’s carbon black sector to about 18% by the close of 2026, up from its current 13% in terms of volume.
The company has outlined plans to scale its total carbon black production capacity to approximately 2,50,000 million tons per annum (mtpa) by the end of the upcoming fiscal year.
The growth will be driven by the brownfield expansion of a new speciality carbon black line at its West Bengal facility. Currently, the company’s production capacity is around 1,80,000 mtpa.
“We currently hold around 13% of the market share in the carbon black industry, and with the de-bottlenecking of capacity at our Bengal unit, we expect this to rise to around 18% by the end of FY26,” said Anurag Choudhary, CMD and CEO of Himadri Speciality Chemical.
As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, the company is investing approximately ₹220 crore in the brownfield expansion, which will more than double its speciality carbon black production capacity to 1,30,000 mtpa.
