Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) is setting up a cutting-edge hydrogen innovation centre in Tamil Nadu. The centre is being established in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM), and Guidance Tamil Nadu, with substantial support from the state government.
With an investment of ₹180 crore, HMIL is focused on creating a state-of-the-art facility at the IIT Madras Thaiyur campus, aligning with its global mission, ‘Progress for Humanity.’
The initiative is a significant step towards advancing hydrogen technology for mass-mobility solutions. The centre, which will span 65,000 square feet.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of a robust hydrogen ecosystem, fostering innovation in alternative fuels.
