The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) formed a partnership with Hydrogen Association of India (HAI) to advance the use of bio-based energy, specifically focusing on the development of green and blue hydrogen. IBA Chairman Gaurav Kedia stated that the collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), will enhance green energy production across India.
The alliance aims to implement several initiatives such as training programs, capacity enhancement, and advocacy for policies that support bio-energy solutions, with an emphasis on green and blue hydrogen. Kedia noted that the green hydrogen sector in India is expected to grow significantly, with market estimates suggesting it could reach $8 billion by 2030 and escalate to $340 billion by 2050.
As reported by ManufacturingToday, the collaboration between IBA and HAI is intended to decrease India’s reliance on foreign energy sources and foster sustainable energy practices. By combining resources and expertise, the partnership will accelerate the development of the bio-based energy industry and contribute to achieving India’s objectives for green energy.
