India Energy Week (IEW) 2025, the government’s annual flagship oil and gas sector conference, is set to take place in New Delhi from February 11-14, 2025.
The event will bring together more than twenty energy ministers and deputy ministers, representing advanced economies, major energy producers, and key nations from the Global South.
In addition to high-level ministerial representation, IEW 2025 will feature heads of leading international organizations and 90 CEOs from Fortune 500 energy giants, such as BP, TotalEnergies, QatarEnergy, ADNOC, Baker Hughes, and Vitol.
India’s Growing Role in Global Energy
The prominence of international agencies, such as OPEC and the International Energy Agency (IEA), launching key reports during IEW highlights India’s significance as the world’s third-largest energy consumer.
At this year’s event, OPEC will release its India Oil Demand Report, while the IEA will unveil a comprehensive study on India’s natural gas sector.
Oil Secretary Pankaj Jain said, “IEW 2025 offers a platform where global stakeholders can exchange ideas, explore opportunities, and witness India’s role in navigating complex energy transitions. This event represents a crucible of global energy innovation, fostering collaboration on critical projects such as green hydrogen technologies, solar advancements, and exploration techniques.”
Spotlight on Clean Cooking
A significant highlight of IEW 2025 will be the clean cooking ministerial, which aims to accelerate the global adoption of clean cooking solutions.
The platform will showcase India’s successful initiatives, such as the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), as models for improving access to clean cooking energy.
The clean cooking ministerial also provides India an opportunity to promote affordable, climate-friendly cooking solutions for the Global South, particularly for African nations and low-income households.
Roundtable and Strategic Themes
The Prime Minister is expected to host a roundtable with top CEOs from international oil and gas companies, further strengthening India’s collaboration with global energy leaders.
IEW 2025 will revolve around seven strategic themes: collaboration, resilience, transition, capacity, digital frontiers, innovation, and leadership.
The themes will focus on practical solutions for decarbonization, energy equity, and creating low-carbon economies.
Massive Participation and Exhibitions
The event is projected to draw over 70,000 delegates from 120 countries, showcasing innovations through 700 exhibitors and 10 country pavilions, including the US, the UK, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Russia.
