Girish Raghavan, CTO of Women’s Health and X-Ray and VP of Engineering at GE HealthCare Technology Centre, India, highlighted the country’s growing importance in the company’s global operations.
With India emerging as one of GE HealthCare’s fastest-growing and most innovative markets, the company’s recent $1 billion investment reaffirms its commitment to leveraging the nation’s potential.
A Growing Market and Innovation Hub
India is not only among GE HealthCare’s largest markets in value but also serves as a critical innovation hub.
The country’s cost-sensitive healthcare environment necessitates the development of solutions that are scalable globally.
Innovations crafted for India’s high-demand healthcare settings – such as hospitals managing 50 CT scans daily compared to just 10 in Western nations – demonstrate universal applicability.
The rapid growth trajectory makes India a strategic priority for GE HealthCare.
The company plans to channel a significant portion of its $1 billion investment into research and development (R&D), particularly in AI, cybersecurity, and next-generation technologies.
AI and Science and Technology
India serves as the epicenter for GE HealthCare’s AI research, integrating AI capabilities across all verticals. The team includes data scientists, cybersecurity experts, clinicians, and engineers working on AI-driven healthcare applications.
Strengthening AI and Cybersecurity Efforts
AI and cybersecurity form the backbone of GE HealthCare’s innovation strategy.
The Indian campus hosts a dedicated AI organization that collaborates with engineers and clinicians to address healthcare challenges.
Additionally, India is recognized as the cybersecurity hub for the company, ensuring robust solutions for safeguarding sensitive healthcare data.
Collaboration with Public and Private Sectors
India’s expanding healthcare infrastructure, propelled by initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, offers immense opportunities.
The public sector, with access to the majority of healthcare data, has become a focal point for innovation.
GE HealthCare partners with government-funded hospitals and state governments in Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh to develop tailored solutions for diverse healthcare needs.
The private sector, while limited in data volume, also plays a crucial role in advancing healthcare delivery. Collaboration with some of India’s best doctors and institutions ensures solutions are both clinically effective and operationally efficient.
Transforming Healthcare with Long-Term Vision
GE HealthCare’s significant investment in India underscores its belief in the country’s potential to transform global healthcare.
As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, with its robust focus on R&D, public-private partnerships, and AI-led innovation, India is poised to lead the way in creating scalable, impactful healthcare solutions for the world.
Rajasthan Government Allocates Land for Industrial and Logistics Hub
The Rajasthan government has begun the process of identifying land to develop the Dausa-Bandikui mega industrial and logistics hub.
Spanning 3,000 hectares, the ambitious project will be implemented in phases, incorporating industrial zones and logistics parks.
Aligning with National Goals
The initiative supports the Central government’s vision of establishing 20 mega industrial parks across the country.
Rajasthan already plays a significant role in this plan, hosting two major investment regions: Khuskhera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana (KBN) and Marwar-Pali-Jodhpur (MPJ).
The Dausa-Bandikui project, however, marks a milestone as Rajasthan’s first greenfield mega park.
Accelerating Industrial Development
With Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹35 lakh crore already signed, the state is intensifying efforts to acquire land for industrial expansion.
Officials recently inspected sites in Manda, Phulera, and Bichoon, focusing on areas near the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.
The team is evaluating the locations for their potential to house logistics parks and industrial zones.
Strategic Land Allocation
As part of the extensive plan, the government plans to allocate 200-250 hectares for industrial and logistics infrastructure.
The initiative aims to strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a hub for large-scale manufacturing and logistics, paving the way for economic growth and job creation in the region.
As reported by manufacturingtodayindia.com, by integrating advanced logistics and industrial facilities, Rajasthan aims to set a benchmark for sustainable and efficient industrial development.
