JPFL Films Private Limited, a subsidiary of India’s largest flexible packaging company, Jindal Poly Films Ltd, has become the first Indian manufacturer to launch Biaxially Oriented Polyamide (BOPA) Nylon films. The company has invested ₹120 crore in its state-of-the-art facility in Nasik to bring this innovation to the domestic market.
Supporting ‘Make in India’ with Advanced Technology
The new product launch aligns with the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and strengthens JPFL Films’ market position. By introducing BOPA Nylon Films, the company showcases its commitment to technological advancement and improved quality. It also focuses on cost optimization and enhancing customer satisfaction. This investment underscores JPFL Films’ dedication to fostering local manufacturing and reducing dependence on imports.
High-Performance Features for Multiple Industries
Dr. Mahesh N Gopalasamudram, Deputy CEO (Growth Division) of JPFL Films, stated, “With the launch of BOPA Nylon Films, JPFL Films becomes the first company to introduce this innovation in India. These films offer superior mechanical properties and an effective aroma barrier, making them ideal for applications in the pharmaceutical, medical, FMCG, and food industries. Until recently, India relied entirely on imports for these films”.
Superior Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Process
JPFL Films utilizes exclusive Japanese double-bubble film technology to produce BOPA Nylon Films with isotropicity—ensuring uniform characteristics in all directions. This advanced process guarantees dimensional stability, puncture resistance, and consistency in film quality. Additionally, these films support high-speed printing and provide an efficient barrier against aroma and gases.
Leveraging Global Expertise for the Indian Market
JPFL Films also benefits from the expertise of its group company, Jindal Nylon Films, which manufactures BOPA films in Italy. “Our experience in global markets enables us to bring cutting-edge innovations to India and better serve our customers,” Dr. Gopalasamudram added.
As per the press release, with this launch, JPFL Films sets a new benchmark in India’s flexible packaging industry. It reinforces the company’s leadership in technological advancements and local manufacturing excellence.
