Jubilant Ingrevia Limited, a globally integrated life sciences and specialty chemicals company, has strengthened its renewable energy footprint by signing a power purchase agreement with O2 Power. The agreement, executed through its wholly owned subsidiary Jubilant Infrastructure Limited, will supply renewable energy to its SEZ Bharuch Manufacturing Facility in Gujarat.
The move reinforces Jubilant Ingrevia’s commitment to sustainability and the adoption of green energy. It follows similar agreements for its Savli (Gujarat) and Gajraula (Uttar Pradesh) manufacturing facilities. Renewable energy supply for these sites is set to begin in April 2025.
A Step Towards Carbon Reduction
Deepak Jain, CEO and Managing Director, Jubilant Ingrevia Limited stated, “Our continued partnership with O2 Power highlights our unwavering commitment to sustainable business practices. With this agreement, we ensure that 50% of the Bharuch facility’s total power requirement will come from renewable energy. By integrating green energy at our state-of-the-art facility, we are taking another crucial step towards reducing our carbon footprint and accelerating India’s transition to clean, sustainable energy. This initiative also delivers long-term value to our partners and stakeholders”.
With this new agreement, over 35% of Jubilant Ingrevia’s total energy requirement across all its manufacturing facilities will now come from renewable sources.
Strengthening the Partnership with O2 Power
Parag Sharma, Founder and CEO, O2 Power added, “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Jubilant Ingrevia to supply renewable energy to their Bharuch Manufacturing Facility. This agreement builds on our successful engagements for their Savli and Gajraula plants. By providing reliable, renewable energy, we not only support Jubilant Ingrevia’s sustainability goals but also contribute to a low-carbon future”.
