Linde announced plans to expand its supply of ultra-high-purity atmospheric, process, and specialty gases to Samsung’s advanced semiconductor manufacturing complex in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. As the primary industrial gas supplier to the facility, Linde already operates multiple on-site production units.
Under a new supply agreement, Linde will build, own, and operate its eighth on-site air separation unit at the Pyeongtaek site. This new unit will deliver nitrogen, oxygen, and argon, essential for semiconductor fabrication. Additionally, Linde will continue to provide hydrogen from its existing on-site hydrogen production units. They expect the expanded supply to begin by mid-2026.
Strengthening a Decades-Long Partnership
“This announcement further strengthens our 45-year partnership with Samsung in South Korea,” said B.S. Sung, President, Linde Korea. “Sung added that Linde’s largest site worldwide, dedicated to an electronics customer, is in Pyeongtaek. We are honored to once again support Samsung’s continued growth.”
Technology Built for Semiconductor Precision
Linde emphasized that it engineered its advanced gas production technology to meet the extreme purity requirements of the semiconductor industry. As per the company press release, it remains committed to safety, reliability, and innovation. This commitment extends to every aspect of its gas supply operations.
Driving Innovation in Electronics Manufacturing
“As Samsung expands its global leadership in semiconductors,” Sung added, “we will continue to deliver cutting-edge gas solutions to support their ambitions. This new facility is a testament to our ability to scale with our customers and meet their evolving needs.”
