Livguard to Expand its Battery Production Capacity to 25 GWh

Energy storage brand Livguard has announced a significant capital expenditure of ₹3,360 crore over the next five years to expand its battery production capacity to 25 gigawatt hours (GWh).

Diversified Battery Portfolio Drives Investment

Livguard, known for producing lithium, lead acid, and sodium-ion batteries, plans to expand. The company will fund the expansion through a mix of equity and debt.

The company aims to raise ₹1,270 crore to ₹1,697 crore in equity, complemented by a similar amount in debt financing.

Currently, Livguard operates with a total battery capacity of 12 GWh, including 1.2 GWh of newly commissioned capacity. Livguard to expand by focusing primarily on lithium battery production, reflecting growing demand in the energy storage market.

Expanding ESS Facility in Haryana

Livguard has already established an Energy Storage Systems (ESS) plant in Manesar, Haryana, utilizing lithium-ion phosphate batteries.

The facility, which received an investment of ₹380 crore, will see its capacity increase to 1.2 GWh by February next year.

Upon completing the project, Livguard plans to build an additional ESS facility with a 5 GWh capacity.

The new plant will cater to both domestic and export markets, further strengthening the company’s global footprint.

Raising Funds for Future Growth

To support its ambitious plans, Livguard intends to raise between ₹1,697 crore and ₹2,121 crore in the next financial year.

The funds will enable the company to scale up production at its lithium and solar facilities, setting the stage for robust growth.

Turnover Target

With these investments, Livguard is aiming for a significant milestone – a turnover of ₹10,000 crore in the coming years.
