Log9 Materials Receives BIS Certification for LTO Batteries

Bengaluru based Log9 Materials, specializing in advanced battery solutions, announced the certification of its LTO (lithium titanate oxide) batteries by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The company emphasizes the superior safety features of its LTO batteries, highlighting their inherent thermal and chemical stability, which significantly reduces the risk of fire or explosion compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries.

Additionally, the batteries are known for their rapid charging capabilities and long-lasting durability, offering a significantly higher number of charge and discharge cycles compared to standard lithium-ion batteries. The extended lifespan is particularly advantageous for electric vehicles (EVs) and other applications requiring reliable energy storage.

LTO batteries find applications across various sectors, including EVs, electric two and three wheelers, electric commercial vehicles, and energy storage systems. The BIS certification validates the rapid charging capabilities of LTO batteries, which is expected to expedite the development of faster charging infrastructure and enhance user convenience.

As reported by EXPRESS mobility, aside from battery production, Log9 Materials underscores its commitment to sustainability through its recycling program. The initiative ensures responsible disposal of lithium-ion batteries, maximizing the utility of their annual production of 250 MWh of LTO EV batteries. Recycled materials are reintroduced into renewable energy storage, aligning with Log9’s dedication to a net-zero materials transition and environmentally responsible practices.
