Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured an ultra-mega order from QatarEnergy LNG for its offshore hydrocarbon business. The company categorizes contracts above ₹15,000 crore as ‘ultra-mega’ orders.
Scope of Work
Under the contract, L&T will be responsible for:
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Fabrication
- Installation
- Commissioning
The project involves constructing two offshore compression complexes, each featuring:
- Large offshore platforms with compression and power generation facilities
- Living quarters for operational staff
- Flare platforms for gas disposal
- Interconnected bridges
- Other associated offshore structures
These facilities will be located 80 km off the northeast coast of Qatar.
Strengthening Qatar’s LNG Leadership
L&T Chairman and Managing Director, S.N. Subrahmanyan said, “We look forward to setting new benchmarks in project execution that will reinforce Qatar’s position as a global LNG leader”.
