Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has bagged a contract for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 100 MW floating solar project from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The project will be located at Getalsud dam in Jharkhand.

L&T’s scope of work includes designing, engineering, procuring, constructing, assembling, testing, and commissioning the solar plant. Additionally, they will provide operational and maintenance services for five years following the project’s completion. The expected timeframe for the commissioning of the project is twelve months, with a total project cost of ₹6.06 billion.

In May 2023, L&T announced the establishment of the L&T Green Energy Council, which consists of distinguished thought leaders, marking a significant move towards expanding its global green energy business. As reported by RenewableWatch, in April 2022, L&T inked a collaboration agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay to engage in joint research and development activities focusing on the green hydrogen value chain.
