L&T CMD S N Subrahmanyan (SNS) was conferred the acclaimed Eminent Engineer award by the Engineering Council of India (ECI) for his outstanding contribution to the industry. A high-level jury chaired by Dr R A Mashelkar (former secretary-department of scientific and industrial research, GoI), chose SNS unanimously from among many other engineering luminaries. The prestigious award was conferred at the opening session of ECI’s National Conference in New Delhi on 29 April.
The award was received on his behalf by Sumeet Chatterjee (VP and Head – Corporate Brand Management and Communications) from Dr Kirit Parikh (Chairman, Integrated Research and Action for Development). SNS said that he was happy to have been bestowed the award and thanked ECI and the eminent jury for unanimously choosing him for the coveted honour. He stated that in selecting him, ECI has actually honoured L&T’s engineers and workers who make the many record-breaking engineering marvels that make India proud.
As per the press release, ECI was founded in 2002 by professional organisations/institutions of engineers to work for the advancement of the profession. ECI bestows the award on individuals who have distinguished themselves in the industry and in research and consultancy.
