Lummus Technology, a known name in process technologies and energy solutions, recently secured a contract from Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. (HPL) to provide digitalization services at HPL’s ethylene facility in West Bengal, India.
Ujjal Mukherjee, the Chief Technology Officer at Lummus Technology, commented on the longstanding relationship with HPL, which spans over two decades. He emphasized that the new contract highlights Lummus’ comprehensive approach to offering both technology and a range of solutions across a plant’s lifecycle. Through Lummus’ specialized knowledge, process expertise, and digital solutions, HPL is expected to achieve optimal operational performance and reduced operating costs.
The contract marks Lummus’ inaugural deployment of its O3S™ digitalization services in India. The company will deliver digitalization expertise along with training and knowledge transfer to HPL’s ethylene plant. This follows a previous engagement where Lummus was selected to provide licensing and basic engineering services for the same plant, continuing a relationship where HPL has utilized Lummus technologies for over 25 years.
As reported by PR Newswire, O3S™ forms a key component of the comprehensive training and digitalization offerings by Lummus. The services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each licensee, incorporating practical simulation experiences. This approach enables plant personnel to operate facilities more safely and efficiently, enhancing overall performance, boosting efficiency, and minimizing waste.
