MAN Industries successfully tested pipes designed for the safe transportation of hydrogen. The achievement, a significant milestone, was conducted in Italy by RINA Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali S.p.A.
Recognizing the pivotal role of hydrogen in mitigating carbon emissions across various sectors and fostering a clean energy system, the industry addresses a crucial challenge in transitioning to a hydrogen-based ecosystem: the effective transportation of hydrogen gas to its point of use. Hydrogen has the potential to convert surplus solar and wind energy into readily available electricity and power fuel-cell vehicles with zero emissions, playing a key role in realizing the potential of renewable energy sources.
The structural integrity and safety of the hydrogen transport pipes manufactured by MAN Industries are guaranteed by the hydrogen service test certification. The certification holds particular significance because hydrogen molecules, being small, pose challenges in permeating through materials.
As reported by ManufacturingToday, Global collaborations, such as the partnership between the Hydrogen Council and the International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF), underscore the world’s commitment to harnessing the transformative power of hydrogen. Participating governments in the IHTF include Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, and the European Commission on behalf of the European Union.
In line with the ambitious goals set by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in India, which aims for net zero emissions by 2070 and energy independence by 2047, the breakthrough positions MAN Industries as a significant contributor to a sustainable, hydrogen-powered future.
