Metso Bags Two Year Lifecycle Contract for IDMI’s Phosphate Plant in Jordan

Metso and Ideal Development for Manufacturing Industries (IDMI) have signed a two-year life-cycle contract to support a new phosphate beneficiation plant at the Eshidiya Mine in southern Jordan.

Metso will assist in commissioning, ramping up, and optimizing the greenfield site, covering both maintenance and plant operations.

Performance-Based Agreement

The contract’s financial details remain undisclosed. However, it is structured as a performance-based agreement with mutually agreed targets, ensuring a win-win partnership.

Metso has already recorded the first phase of the contract in its Minerals segment orders for the first quarter of 2025. Additionally, the customer has the option to extend the contract for another two years.

Building on Previous Success

The agreement builds on Metso’s first phosphate application contract in the Middle East, signed in 2023.

Metso supplied most of the critical equipment for the plant’s flow sheet, including grinding, flotation, thickeners, filters, and pumps.

The plant also features energy-efficient Metso UltraFine Series™ screens, part of the Metso Plus offering for fine wet screening. Notably, this marks the first installation of ultra-fine screens in a phosphate beneficiation plant.

Commitment to Innovation and Growth

Rami Fakhouri, Managing Director of IDMI, emphasized the importance of Metso’s technology in achieving strong returns on investment.

“By leveraging Metso’s key technologies and modern, safe commissioning methods, we aim to enhance revenue and growth opportunities. Strong collaboration is crucial for ensuring safe and productive operations,” he stated.

Rajneesh Mishra, Vice President of Sales and Service, Middle East, Metso highlighted, “We appreciate our customer’s trust in continuing this collaboration. Jordan holds the fifth largest phosphate reserves in the world, and we are committed to supporting success in this vital industry. Our goal is to ensure a smooth commissioning process and sustained efficient production, exceeding business targets”.

Focus on Safety and Sustainability

Metso remains dedicated to enhancing safety, environmental performance, and production efficiency.

The company aims to improve reliability, optimize resource efficiency, and minimize the total cost of ownership for its customers.

As per the press release, through the partnership, Metso continues to reinforce its position as a leader in phosphate beneficiation solutions.
