Tamil Nadu’s deputy chief minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin, inaugurated the 45,000 sq. ft. MCC-MRF Innovation Park at Madras Christian College (MCC).
The state-of-the-art facility, built with a ₹30 crore investment from the Chennai based MRF Foundation, aims to catalyse research and innovation while nurturing emerging talent.
Mission of the Innovation Park
The MCC-MRF Innovation Park is designed to drive ground-breaking research, foster start-up ventures, and cultivate creativity.
The facility will focus on cutting-edge areas such as business analytics, nanomaterials, big data analytics, computational informatics, and healthcare and digital solutions.
Through these efforts, the park seeks to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Supporting Start-up Ecosystem
During the inauguration, Stalin emphasized Tamil Nadu’s ambitious goal of fostering over 5,000 start-ups in the coming years.
He expressed confidence that the Innovation Park would play a pivotal role in creating hundreds of start-ups, which would contribute significantly to Tamil Nadu’s economic growth and elevate India’s economy.
A First-of-Its-Kind Initiative in the Country
Stalin also lauded the initiative. He highlighted that the MCC-MRF Innovation Park is the first innovation center in India. It is established at an arts and science college.
The facility is designed as a hub for academic and cultural events. It features an amphitheatre, pavilions, and versatile spaces for seminars, workshops, and cultural programs.

KM Mammen, Chairman of the MCC Association and Board of Directors, as well as Chairman of MRF, stated, “The collaboration is a prime example of how partnerships between institutions can create lasting opportunities. The MCC-MRF Innovation Park offers a platform to nurture future leaders and innovators. It provides access to advanced resources, expert mentorship, and opportunities to transform ideas into impactful solutions”.
