Nandakumar Velayudhan Pillai took charge as Director, Refinery at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL). With over thirty years of experience in the refining industry, Pillai has played a pivotal role in the company’s major achievements.
His extensive background includes work in production planning, process engineering, operations, and project management, as well as various roles at the refinery head office. Previously he served as group general manager of corporate strategy.
Pillai is known for his leadership in high-value projects, including overseeing a $500 million investment during the phase-3 expansion of the refinery.
As reported by mangalorean.com, he also contributes to industry standards as a Convener on a Bureau of Indian Standards subcommittee and is part of a government task force focused on selecting centres of excellence for research in plastics, polymer, and petrochemicals.
