Nayara Energy Forays into Ethanol Production

Nayara Energy Ltd, backed by Rosneft, announced investments of ₹600 crore for setting up two ethanol plants in Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, each boasting a production capacity of 200 kilolitres per day. The initiative aligns with the government’s 2025 ethanol-blending objective and is expected to bolster the company’s vertical integration from oil refining to fuel retailing.

As reported by msn.com, Nayara Energy plans to establish a total of five ethanol production facilities, collectively capable of producing 1,000 kilolitres per day. The government’s ethanol-blending program aims for 20% ethanol-blended petrol availability at all fuel stations in India by 2025, a significant increase from the current 10% blend. The strategic move is aimed at diminishing reliance on imported crude oil while also mitigating pollution levels.
