The Odisha government has allocated approximately seventy acres of land to Inox Solar, a subsidiary of Inox Clean, for establishing a ₹4,000 crore solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal. The strategic move marks a significant step in strengthening the state’s position in India’s green energy landscape.
4.8 GW Solar Cell and Module Plant Planned
The upcoming facility will house a 4.8 GW solar cell and 4.8 GW solar module manufacturing plant. The high-capacity, state-of-the-art infrastructure will enable Inox Solar to set up a cutting-edge production hub. It will cater to the growing domestic and international demand for solar components.
Earlier this year, the INOXGFL Group, the parent company of Inox Clean, announced the ₹4,000 crore investment through Inox Solar for building this facility. The land allocation reflects the state’s broader commitment to fostering clean energy infrastructure while stimulating local employment and industrial expansion.
INOXGFL Group Reinforces Clean Energy Commitment
Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, remarked, “We are honoured to partner with the Odisha Government in their mission to promote green energy and aid the Prime Minister’s vision of transforming India into a clean energy hub. This strategic land allocation allows us to expand our solar energy footprint, reinforcing our commitment to India’s clean energy goals.” Jain added that by leveraging their expertise in renewable energy, the group aims to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions that support both businesses and communities.
Powering India’s Clean Energy Future
With this landmark allocation, Odisha takes a decisive step toward becoming a renewable energy manufacturing hub. As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, Inox Solar’s planned manufacturing facility supports India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and the National Solar Mission. It aims to localize production, cut import dependence, and build a resilient green energy supply chain.
