ONGC Commences Commercial Production of Coal Bed Methane in Bokaro

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has started extracting coal bed methane (CBM) from its block in Bokaro, Jharkhand. CBM, an unconventional form of natural gas, serves as an alternative energy resource for India.

As reported by projectstoday.com, the block is projected to produce 1,70,000 standard cubic meters per day (scmd) initially, with plans to increase output to 3,00,000 scmd by the end of the current fiscal year.
