Perstorp Inaugurates ISCC PLUS certified Penta Product Plant in Bharuch

Perstorp, a specialty chemicals manufacturer headquartered in Malmo, Sweden, announced the commissioning of an ISCC PLUS certified Penta product plant in western India. The idea is to enhance availability for Asian markets. Situated in Bharuch, the plant represents Perstorp’s most substantial investment in Asia to date. It is strategically located near ports and transport infrastructure. With an annual nameplate capacity of 40,000 metric tons for Pentaerythritol and 26,000 metric tons for calcium formate, the plant marks a milestone for the company.

Gorm Jensen, Executive Vice President of Commercial and Innovation at Perstorp said, “The investment strengthens our standing as a dependable and sustainable partner in Asia”. As reported by F+L Daily, the plant operates using renewable raw materials and hybrid electricity sources. Its flagship bio-attributed Penta grade, Voxtar, holds an ISCC PLUS sustainability certification. Voxtar enables buyers to reduce value chain emissions compared to fossil-based alternatives through a certified mass balance approach. Perstorp specializes in producing essential specialty chemicals across organic solutions, process engineering, and various applications.
